Looking for recommendations San Jose and east
I'll be coming to stay on the east cape about 10 miles outside of San Jose del Cabo in May with my wife. Looking for recommendations of excellent
(and authentic) food in that area. I speak Spanish, so the less Gringo the better. Also looking for recommendations on more upscale type of place I
can take the wife either in SJ or in Cabo San Lucas. Thanks.

For your nice night out I recommend Flora Farms. It is close to where you are staying. Very nice location in the huerta and very good food. Prices on
the higher end.
If you are staying in Zacatitos, you must go to Zac's for exposure to the local crew. Fun crowd, good food, where all the regulars meet.
Near the San Jose marina is La Marina. A restaurant and small hotel. Great food at reasonable prices. Right across the street from El Gonzo hotel
which has some pretty seating on the waterfront.
Old downtown San Jose has an art walk on Thursday night. A good bet for your night in town. Several nice restaurants in that area. Look in the door
and pick one. Check out the galleries.
Our favorite taco place is Claro's on the main road coming up into old San Jose from hotel row. Classic fish tacos etc.
Another fun place is Guacamaya's in San Jose. The mixed stone bowl molacajete (sp?) is pretty awesome and big enough to share.
We only go to Cabo to do the Costco run now and then. But Edith's in Cabo is high end and supposed to be really nice.
So many choices.....
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.

Ooh, forgot Tacos Michoacan for carnitas. Yum. The real deal. Also nearby in that part of San Jose is Tacos Rosy for great fish tacos.

Mariscos "El Toro Guero", (not the one in San Jose), the one on the highway, right side going north towards airport on the hill before San Bernabe.
Great fresh seafood dishes, still priced right, and not pretentious. In Santa Anita small berg north of the airport, "El Jovenazo", local guy, mainly
mariscos but serving three meals a day, good and fresh.
Great local puestos all over Zacatal, Santa Rosa and San Jose Viejo, just drive down el Alta Tension and you'll find good birria, tacos de lengua
& cabesa, pastor, carnitas, carne asada, pescado, and more mariscos, more options all the time. Just look around whom has customers. Great local
food.
San Jose proper has gotten kinda designer/hand crafted, overpriced and caters to the dollar spending, english speaking crowd.
Carnitas Michoacan on the highway in Zacatal is half price on Wednesdays, (they get 400p. a kilo otherwise), pero siempre hay una cola los miercoles.
Buen Provecho!
