Jan, your link is to images from 2005. According to the excellent GeoMAC website (link below), there are currently several fires burning in the area
east of Calafia (which may explain why you posted), but there are no fires in the specific areas shown as burning in your linked images. Please be
careful when you post stuff like this. People with family, friends or property in the affected areas might be misled by this newly posted but
twelve-year old data.

Looking south from San Diego at sunset tonite, saw smoke plumes blowing west over the coast and pacific, originating from somewhere in Mexico between
campo and tecate.
Woke!

Driving into Rosarito today, the huge smoke plume looked like it was coming from the Blvd. 2000 area, beyond the hills fronting the coast.
First responders had a staging area set up at the Blvd 2000 and the Carreterra Libre intersection.

Tomorrow could be a problem and those fires could expand. The forecast high for Ensenada is 97 degrees, with offshore winds blowing 15-20 mph and
humidity below 20 percent. No bueno (unless you're surfing). Fortunately there's a cooling trend on the horizon.

Wow, Phoenix and Ensenada the same temp. Didn't think that was possible. Must be miserable with the humidity.

Looks like that fire east of Calafia has grown substantially over night. Curious to see any reports. Also, according to GeoMAC, there is a small
fire in the Valle de Guadalupe near Francisco Zarco, and another one at the southeast edge of Ensenada.
