This happens every so often and in the end SCORE and the land owners work it out one way or another. I remember a few years ago the Ejido President at San Felipe had a beef with SCORE saying he was not paid and SCORE said he was. It went back and forth a while and SCORE made a deal with Ensenada to run the 250 race over there. The losers were the town of San Felipe and boy were they ticked off at the Ejido President.

Shari,
Are those upset with the ejidos local Mexican residents or race enthusiasts?

I see from RM632 to RM648 south of San Ignacio there is some new stuff. Part of it may have been used in the 2014 1000.

Tacos and racing....sounds like it requires some cervezas and a chair...and a tent for waiting and snoozing.

I'll be traveling through Baja that week. Does anyone know when the first and last racers will get to San Ignacio? Maybe a good time to be off the road!

To help skibum, when are you expecting the first bikes to arrive?

A general rule for Trophy Trucks (or the fastest 4 wheel racers) is to figure 50-60 mph as the average speed for the fastest of them.

So, if you are at Race Mile 500 and the first trucks/buggies start at 10 am: 500/60 = 8.33 and 500/50 = 10. So 10 am + 8 hr. 20 min. to 10 hr. or 6:20 pm to 8 pm (for the lead vehicles) and the rest will pass over the next several hours, ie. all night long!

We were pitting at El Crucero... as I recall, that was about Race Mile 400. The first bike, who was way-way ahead of the rest passed up around noon. The first Trophy Truck was just after sundown, or around 5:30-6. The next 6 hours were pretty busy for us, then it was very spread out after midnight.

Remember, Daylight Savings ends next week and if you are going into Baja Sur, you lose another hour.

That is true for normal people, but to cut down on confusion, all SCORE/race times remain on Pacific Time the entire length of the peninsula. Racers will live on PT.

I always forget, do I rotate the base of my sundial clockwise, or counter?

Can anyone tell me how I go about using some of the daylight I saved all summer?

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
