Why buy pirate when, as somebody has already said, new Almanacs are on ebay, and Amazon? Ya, the price is up there. But, if you want one, and can't
find it cheaper .....

Personally, I wish I had bought a few extra of the 2003. Much easier size to carry.

Mapmakers (cartographers) sometimes put intentional errors in their maps as a copyright protection.

Not sure if that was Landon's doing or he was just up too late when he was making the 2009 Baja Almanac? Back in 2009, BajaLou was the first (I think)
Nomad to discover some major errors on the edges of some of the maps...

Here again are those latitude errors:

2009 Almanac latitude corrections to pencil in:

On Maps 5 & 6, the latitude changes to make: All the 31° figures needs to be 30° (the minutes are fine).

On Map 7: All the 31° figures need to be changed to 29° and the one 30° figure needs to be 28°.

Map 12 [RIGHT side only] latitude figures are wrong, they should be the same numbers as on the left side.

Map 18 The degree figures on both sides are wrong: the 25° figures should all be 24°, and the 26° figures should all be 25°.

All of the smart ones place errors on their maps. The first thing we were taught when using Thomas Bros for first response was this. Best to know your
first in (and environs) and not rely on a map.

So, I got a message from the seller on FB stating that he bought the remaining original almanacs from the family.

If this is indeed the case, my sincerest apologies.

In my defense, I did have many clues to be suspect: Admitting making unauthorized copies previously, Not answering my inquire on eBay, etc.

I'll just put this to rest and move on and have a Pacifico

No, anyone can host data there. It’s free and open source data repository.

I just figured it would be a good place to host. Obviously with respect to Landon and all he did for the community pleas this is for personal use not
for resale.

Unsure on the specifics, honestly the baja-almanac website is broke and send people in round about with to many redirects.

This just makes it simple I’ll remove it if it’s going to ruffle too many feathers.

I use Avenza for work and play but the geoPDF and other files will work for most applications

Uhhh... maybe I don't understand the situation, but my read on it is that you're publishing a copyrighted work without the owner's knowledge or
permission.

I'm surprised that archive.org allows people to do that. Seems like they'd be liable.

Big ole negative. I’m not publishing anything. Hosting a file isn’t copyright infringement. Anyhow I’m leaving for baja y’all enjoy the free
maps

My guess is every map ever made (and every single thing on the internet including this thread and how Nomads scare away every single newbie -- leaving
this site with no one left but 14 people) is being consumed by the LLM's of every Big Tech company right now. Enjoy being eaten!!! =)

Very true. Luckily I’m not scared of old nomads being grumpy. I’ve been doing Baja for 30 years I’ll be okay. On your other point though, the
data trawling is happening everywhere. I’m looking make the info more accessible for newbies by hosting in a site that actually works.

For all Nomads, the 2003, 2009, and 2015 Almanacs are all preserved and in very high resolution for map reading, at www.vivabaja.com/maps

And maybe Stormytama does not know that he can buy the Avenza Maps app for the 2024 Atlas for his phone and have a even better map with the ability of
GPS tracking.

And he should be aware that Benchmark also sells book form paper map for the 2024 version. Hard to beat for a paper map.
The Atlas map is much better than any Almanac version
