I grew up racing the desert. Green Horn, Cactus Derby BtoV, with the likes of Buck Smith, JN Roberts, "Smoke Bomb" Goetz.....Rode a 500 Triumph, #3
grain scoop for a skid plate...Started BtoV once between Steve Mqeen ad Lee Marvin....yee haaaa

                                         That's cool Chuckie. I raced D37 JN Roberts days. Also Moto cross with Steve Mgeen He was on a Cheny Triumph
500. I was on a factory Rickman  Triumph   650 moto crosser. Lucky I survived those days still ride every week.

I rode a Triumph Bonneville from Gonzaga to San Felipe that was set up for dirt riding in the early 70's.  It had "Buck Smith Forks", Buck would
modify factory Triumph fork legs.  The difference his mods made were amazing.  We went to his house in Tujunga to pick them up.  He wasn't a tall guy
and he had a double layer of foam on the seat of his dessert racing bike that made so he ride in a sit/standing position.
