Virus and lessons from Hokkaido, Japan.

''It was once seen as something of a success story - a region that worked to contain, trace and isolate the virus - leading to a huge drop in numbers.
But Hokkaido is in the spotlight again as it struggles to deal with a second wave of infections.''

Not surprised about recurrence risks.... and am not a whiner about maybe an 18 month or longer period of distancing etc....

Wait and see..... work on the garden and south ecological park section...ride some moto out in the sticks.... rinse and repeat.

This whole thing hasn't changed my life very much....but those less reclusive and who have a life with others have a harder time with the
restrictions.

What a ride !

That really sucks and I really hope that neither the US or Mexico make that mistake. That would literally be the final nail in the coffin for both
economies.

You should stop posting on the subject. Of course it doesn't matter to you. Don't make me spell out why.

But at the end of the day, it is you and your partner Budda who are the truly selfish ones.

Well, 20% of USA citizens are unemployed (should be >25% unemployment soon), and the rest of us employed are Holding our fingers in the dykes to

Lee What a sobering article. How can one possibly wait until a vaccine is created to open up the economy? Boy, if there was ever a time to invest
in scientific research, this is it.

Hi Blanca,

I offer these two videos (if your connection is up to it) to give you a different perspective on how the virus might go for all of you in Baja. I hope

OK, now that the Super Administrator has nuked Jughead. Thanks Doug!

The link I posted above is a podcast of an interview from 3 days ago with Dr Zev Zelenko.

The since deleted article by Jughead was a month old, things change.

To me, this is interesting research, all political crap aside. If I heard correctly during the interview he will be releasing the results of his
research this week. Looking forward to reading that.

I didn't say I didn't worry....just that my "lifestyle" hasn't changed much with the distancing.
Yes, I am unemployed as I stopped working three years ago.... And as a resourceful type, I am living off savings and my gov't pension of $1000/month.
No apologies for that, Goat.

I truly empathize with those whose employment is affected by layoffs, etc. and by those life is seriously effected by the plague.....just not much I
can do about their plight (not feeling arrogant....just realistic....).

As for you Jizzy.....why should I stop posting ? There's lots of room for your self-absorbtion on the forum.

New numbers from Cuomo today. 1 in 4 New Yorkers has had it and recovered. Plus the data has a lag of a week plus.

A troubling article for sure. Also troubling is Gov. Newsom's reaction to open beaches in OC and elsewhere. He thinks people are ignoring
distancing -- bet he closes the beaches again.

It might take a second wave to wake people up. New norm here might be masks intermittently, and distancing in public.

Next few weeks will tell. In the meantime, demonstrations and protests are happening.

BTW -- believing all things are negotiable, bet the cops blocking access around Abreojos will negotiate with the right person.
