Don Eddie's San Quintin

When you drive up to this property you immediately realize that this property has seen better days in the past. There are 3 large dogs (2 strays) which make it impossible to walk a dog on the property. The property around the rooms has not been cleaned in sometime as evidenced by fallen branches & leaves & beer bottles around the area. No restaurant facilities & food places are not within walking distance. No wi-fi in room so a real deal breaker. Not sure when the room I stayed had been really cleaned as there were cobwebs in some corners. I think I was the only occupant in the whole property this night. Overall definitely no more than 3 stars for price & location.

It is next door to the Old Mill (Molino Viejo), an excellent restaurant... walk over and check it out.

Sorry to read this- and not terribly surprised. Last few times I stayed there it was having challenges.

Agree with Dave- eat next door at the Old Mill. They had a nice outdoor dining deck last time I visited.

Love the location and view.

I think the owner passed away, and now the place is run by who knows? I don’t think there is anyone in charge with passion to run a good hotel,.... so it is getting run down through neglect...

True but Eva was great.

Here's my review from a trip last summer:

"We went next door to Don Eddie’s and got situated for the night. There was a local dog that stayed outside our room ALL night. It was kinda cool, but a little annoying since we had to take our dogs out and our “friend” just wanted to play with them. It was a built in security guard, I suppose.

It was a fun place for the kids, though... with the little swings and playground they had there...

We went next door to eat, like everyone else who has commented here. :D

Aburruss- was that 2nd story building located across from the restaurant (that has apparently burned down)?

I stayed there a few years ago, and they were just rebuilding that upstairs deck= but it was an open-air patio. Surprised to see it enclosed. (And for some reason I think the previous building also had been damaged by fire...)

I liked the open deck. It was a great look-out spot with morning coffee or an evening c-cktail.

The restaurant was located to the left side of this picture. This was taken in July of 2019. It was there at that time. When was the fire?
