Border crossing?
Hi all,
Apologies for a similar post, but I didn’t quite see this question answered in the other thread. I am seeing all the articles about Baja borders
being closed to everything except essential travel (https://www.mexperience.com/mexico-land-border-restrictions-...).
My question is: will we get stopped from crossing from CA to Baja through the San Ysidro border with surfboards on the car? (We’re headed to
socially distance camp at one of the less crowded 7 sisters).

The border is not physically closed... Anyone going to Mexico for fun is probably not an essential traveler but that's their business... Mexico just
wants to protect its citizens and hospitals. America wants to halt the transfer of the disease across the border. You don't know when you get it...
maybe from the money when you buy gas and don't know you have it for several days.

Go and have fun. It hasn't been a problem traveling since July or earlier.
And no, you won't get rona from touching money or a gas pump, lol. Just be careful and distance from others. Please post some pics.

No one has all the answers and the above is misinformation. JZ believes what he reads. That's it. He's not a virologist.
Handling money or gas pumps isn't the primary source of transmission for this virus. However, anything touched by lots of people will have stuff on
it you don't want. Including shopping carts.
Scientific studies haven't been done to rule out where the virus does and doesn't thrive.
Writing that Baja is safe based on personal experience is opinion. Making statements that Baja is safe and has no problems is reckless.
If you believe otherwise, do your thing. Remember, no one is going to save you if you get in trouble SOB. Just my opinion.

It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or

There were some studies done and the conclusion was that the virus can survive on a paper up to 24 hours, longer on a hard surface. Or it could die
within a few hours. Many variables here, including ambient temperature, humidity, sun exposure and how dirty the surface is. Surfaces are not a
primary source of transmission. Talking to people is a higher risk, regular 50-cents masks that are not N/K95 provide only 20-30% protection. Talking
loud increases the risk and so does staying in enclosed spaces where many other people went through, like a shop or restaurant.

There's also a difference between it living and still being infectious.
