M/C rider needs to receive FedEx. Update, he did the full peninsula trip ok and is back north. Photo album added.

A request from a motorcycle rider (Scott Taggart) in the middle of his trip, from his inReach device:

Hi, need Mulegé address that can accept FedEx shipment of small motorcycle part, business address preferred, if possible. Please text 916 716
0028. Thanks

Feb. 17 update:

Scott ripped to the southern end, Los Naranjos Road, and back north across the border... zipped along and used mostly dirt roads south... and lots of
dirt north.
I hope to get a trip report and photos (if he had time to take any)!

I would ask a store, business, hotel, or established business. The bus station would be another option. Folks are helpful, and likely more than
willing to accept an "In Care Of" package with prior knowledge. A tip would also be inline.

David,

That is the wrong (old) address, he's not there anymore. Google not updated, the property is vacant.

Try:

km 132 trans highway cachano, H, 23900 Heroica Mulegé, B.C.S.

He is south of town, 10 meters north of the driveway for Senior Geckos restaurant.

OK, I will send that to Scott and the other places I posted it. On Google Satellite view, it has it directly west of the gas station (south of town)
and at the base of the hill?

In my kilometer notes, I have the Villa María Isabel RV Park at Km. 132+ or about Km. 132.25.
Is his shop near that driveway or any other landmarks?
Jungla Jim's is at Km. 133 and the Serenidad driveway is Km. 131+.

Thanks a bunch!

Reply from Scott: Thanks. Just found out that FedEx will only guarantee 12 day delivery to Mulegé! Any other ideas on shipping from California?

if I can get parts within a week from the US I'll pop some Champagne
within a months is not bad
if it takes 3 months I have learned to live with it

especially when brought down by forum members or other online friends parts sometimes disappear (twice last year)

it's Baja - you are not in Kansas anymore

It always been my understanding that DHL was the most reliable international shipper in Mexico. You can get a time & cost quote on their website.

If he posted what was needed, some members might be able to check with local contacts. I have always found something that would work if you ask enough
locals?

If he is in san ignaciol, talk to the yurts. if he is in a hotel, use them for the address.

Everyone knows how remote La Bocana is? 16 years ago, when we were the ONLY Americans living there, Les's company needed for him to sign a document.
They said they would overnight it and he said GOOD LUCK with that. I swear that 2 days later, someone was on our porch with the document! It was
absolutely unbelievable. I am sorry that I don't remember the company but it can be done!

I reached out to this guy stating I could attempt to mediate thru BBP and his reply was
"Thanks Russ, Thanks for all your help. No good options for shipping, ect. Continuing on. 1250 miles left to Tecate. Wish me luck!"

Very nice outreach from the Nomads!
He is south of Constitución, riding at 55 mph as we speak.
His itinerary is very 'active' with lots of miles each day.
He has no downtime to wait for a package.
I think he was hopeful that the part (I do not know what it is) would get to Mulegé on his northbound trek.

On the Ride Baja Facebook group this morning, Scott answered the question as to what he needed shipped:

... timing chain tensioner. Had problems on this bike since I owned. My first dirt tricks one exploded internally. This dirt tricks one in now is not
tensioning enough so chain slaps a bit. Continuing ride since impossible to get one shipped in any reasonable time.

Right now, he is near Puerto Chale, south end of Mag Bay.
