The figures are per capita. Actually per 100,000 residents.

No one here fears life. But many people here have reasonable fears of being burglarized, robbed, assaulted or murdered.

Tijuana is a big place. There are "no go" neighborhoods you should stay out of. If you are just driving to and from the border on the regular routes
the biggest hazard is a traffic accident.

"the busiest land border crossing in the Western Hemisphere, with approximately 120,000 passenger vehicles, 63,000 pedestrians and 6,000 trucks
crossing back and forth every single day."

I don't know but I bet over 95% of the murders in TJ are bad guys killing other bad guys. It's gang warfare.

The chart is not accurate there were over 100 murders in the San Diego area in 2021.

Camaroncito, living in fear, not a surprise. You and goat do have a lot in common. Fearful as mice.

Well,… the map shows homocide rates, not totals. And it shows 2020 data, not 2021. Read the legend!

There were 121 murders in San Diego County in 2021. The population is 3,324,000. That is a homicide RATE of 3.64 per 100,000 people.

I'd be curious to know how many of these homicides were men killing their wives or girlfriends.......we tend to see these statistics and think of
these killings as being cartel or gang related, or worried that as a foreigner we'll be killed driving down the toll road, but I bet a good portion of
these numbers are man on woman killings.

Many tourist and expats here think that the murder and mayem in mexico is fine as long as it is not involving tourist and expats…

 They are delusional.
