Scorpion Bay East

Checking on the condition going from Scorpion Bay East accross to Concepcion? It's been a few years so I though I'd check.

I presume you are speaking of the paved then graded road east from La Purísima/ San Isidro to Km. 58.5, and not the mountain road from La Ballena to Mulegé via San Miguel?

In my readings of Facebook Baja pages, I don't recall any recent or notable reports. It is generally a slow, rocky based dirt highway. Maybe briefly smooth after a grader upgrades it east of the pavement. The far east end for the final miles is smooth and fast, however... when I drove it. Alas, that was in 2017.

If it's the road that I took last month, the day after the NORRA race, it's rocky and slow but 2WD for the most part. If you see a bag with my passport, please let me know... LOL. A little deep sand right off of the road in Scorpion Bay at the start.

Yeah, sounds about how it was when I last did it in 19. Slow & rocky in the middle. Took 3-4 hours in a SxS🙄
