Alaska used to fly to La Paz about ten years ago, but the airport lost their international status.

The neighborhood was Californicated long ago; I remember wandering the hills back of El Centenario when there was not one single house above the flat, and that was back when Aerocalifornia had regular LAX <-> LAP flights, so I doubt this development will make much impact.

Speaking of Aerocalifornia, how many of you flew with them before they went tits up? They had a rather dubious reputation, but I don't recall any major incidents. A compadre of mine was a pilot with them, saw the writing on the wall and bailed out before they folded, and after bouncing around a bit, ended up a captain with Emirates. So I guess their pilots were decent.
