If you like bicycle track racing, there is a velodrome on south side of town, amongst the various sports fields on Ave de los Deportistas

I would have never guessed that! If my repair gets delayed I'll check it out.

I also learned that La Paz has a basketball team (Mantarrayas) that plays in an arena behind the fútbol stadium and a baseball team (Delfines) that play in a stadium next to the fútbol stadium.

I am bummed my van is not well, but on the bright side I have learned a ton about La Paz being unexpectedly "stranded" hear for a while. The fútbol match last night and the following after party in the parking lot was a great time!

Thanks for visiting him! It was so nice of you.

No matter what, i would go to Cabo Pulmo and snorkel after the van is fixed. It is such a wonderful place.

I just realized that Barbara from Canada lives in La Paz and would probably accompany you on your lunches etc if you want company?

Come visit La Bocana

Thanks Blanca. I've been to Cabo Pulmo a couple times and agree the snorkeling is fantastic. I had a great time out at Isla Espiritu Santo yesterday although the water is a bit frigid now.

Once the van's spa treatment is complete I'll probably start a slow wander north.

I was yelled at by both a sea lion and a mountain yesterday!

Hola Blanca. Can you help me find you through a different way than the coordinates? We have a trip north next month and would love to come visit. Also, thanks to all for all the great information in this thread.

Thursday is my museum day since it is supposed to be colder and windy. I had read on that place and may include it. Thanks

My first ever fútbol match tonight. $16.50 USD for great seat location! Atlético La Paz vs Alacranes Durango. Go La Paz!

I just learned today that there is a professional football team right in La Paz. One more reason to keep coming back to Baja!

The real kind of football! I saw my first NFL game only a few months ago, at age 65. The New England Patriots did what they do best - at least for the past few seasons.

Don't know whats doing this, but the hotels are suddenly much cheaper again than last year, even in CAD. Of course if you live in USD, they are even better.

What drives down accommodation prices is lack of business, which results either from not enough tourists and travelers, or increased competition, i.e. more hotels and Airbnb-type listings.

Roads from the border are reportedly far worse and the flights are more expensive, so there may well be fewer people travelling to La Paz this winter. Should also make for better pricing on tours as well. AKGringo may be able to enlighten us?

No help here! My trip this year was just a quick drive-about through the northern half of Baja. San Juanico was as far south as I got, and my SUV was my accomodation.

Yes, the pavement is bad, but most of the roads I used the pavement to get to were much more difficult!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
