Screw worm requirements entering the US?

Any reports from people entering the US with a dog recently regarding the new Screw worm screenings? The USDA/APHIS site is very unhelpful. Are they asking for vet certificates? Is it only for air travel? Thanks.

I crossed northbound on Jan 8 at Mexicali west "ready lane" just before 9 AM. I did not know about the screw worm requirements, but when I offered my current veterinarian paperwork for vaccinations and microchip info, the agent did not look at them.

She did ask what my dog's name was since she was wiggling and looking for a treat!

By the way, there was one vehicle ahead of me and the total crossing time was about five minutes!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Headed north tomorrow for the first time since the new pet rules. I did fill out the form CDC or CBP, can't remember who's. Given the 5 day window on the worm exam, I'd have to find a vet near the border. San Felipe or Tecate.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Is a doctor's visit even worth it or should we just skip it and beg forgiveness?

(healthy dog form USA, obviously not a stray or Baja import)

Thoughts?

Following up...

Crossed today, Feb 5th. Was not asked for any paperwork. Also managed to avoid secondary. That's a small miracle in itself.
