Best Cross-Border Bank?
What bank are you liking for cross-border use? I'm in California so one with branches here would be ideal.
Or, is it better to NOT use the same bank on both sides of the border?

Hello everyone !
Another day above ground ! Living the good life.
Okay so i.have been doing alot of work in Mexico with my property and needed to set up a bank account for my Mexican corporation.
Mojo Mex
So I set up a corporate account at the BBVA bank in Loreto. They turned out to be a nightmare ! Every time I tried to send money to the account from
the United States they would refuse to accept it.
They were worried that it was drug money being set to Mexico.
I am working to improve the property with electricity and water and improve to road to the property.
In doing so I needed to hire contractors to do the work and needed a way to pay them.
Long story short you are not able to access your account from the United States only in Mexico.
Even though the account is in the name of my corporation. Me being the owner I was not allowed to move money for payments. Only my secretary who set
up the account.
No matter how many times we went to the bank to fix it.
I gave up on them ! Super mismanaged bank with no one really in charge able to clear up the problem
So I went to the INTERCAM Back in Loreto. Which was recommended by a local business because of their ability to work international.
I was greeted by the bank manger when I entered bank and was asked If they could assist me. .
I explained that I wanted to set-up a corporate account. No problem.
They personally worked with me on all the information needed and everything was done in English as everyone that worked in the bank spoke English
Wow ! Everyone
The account has been set up and works great ! I am able to transfer money from my American account to my Mexican without any issues. I transfer the
money into a dollar account and when i see the exchange rate is where I want I transfer it into my pesos account.
No problem paying contractors just need their banking info and send them a payment. And an automatic e-mail to my accountant.
For contact and personal service contact Irmita at InterCam bank 52 613 113 3906.
She is available to answer any of your questions about banking in Mexico
I'm sure you you will be very pleased. I don't often recommend someone but she has been one of the best contacts I've had in Mexico
Mexico has been some what different at times to get answers and things actually done but I just can't but keep loving it and the folks that live there
Let Irmita know that John from mojo Mex sent you

I've had a BBVA (formerly known as Bancomer) account for 16 years and have never had a problem transferring money into it, either directly from my
Canadian bank account, or using an online transfer platform like xetrade.

Hello surabi was that a personal account or a corporate account ?
Just asking to figure it out.
Are you able to transfer money when you are in Canada ?
BBVA Told me that I could only transfer money while I was in Mexico .
Thanks. Viva Baja
By the way I think the world is a little crazy.

A personal account. Maybe corpirate accounts are different. And I live on the mainland, so no, not Loreto. Yes, different branches can be more
difficult to deal with than others, I'm sure.
I have used xetrade to transfer $ while in Canada, no problem.
