Judging by your posts, I feel like you have more tracks documented than the average person (by far). I think you can download the free version and see
how you like it.
I use Gaia, but that is only because it came out before OnX, but I believe it is pretty comparable. There are a ton of map overlays that are
downloadable. Easy tracking, I just import waypoints or tracks from Google Earth on my PC through the web based app, then it syncs to my phone. I
really like it, I've heard OnX is better though.
In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for
you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in god�s name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the
future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?

I am using GaiaGPS, Avenza and Google Earth and I am very happy with them
I have looked into On X a long time ago and it did not offer anything for Baja
that seems to have changed
and at least the desktop version has an intriguing presentation that none of the others have
I like the 3D satellite overview of the presented trails/roads - very intuitive
that won't be available when offline, but for browsing/planning at home it seems great
wanted to get your input before I pluck down my credit card for the "free" version
it's like being a mechanic and you have already a few torque wrenches and a new digital version shows up - it might be good for your work, it might be
a waste of money

I use both ONX and OSMAND, somewhat new to ONX but liking it. You need to make sure you have your area of travel downloaded so you can use it offline.
Onx has a satellite view that was super helpful last month when we were in remote areas, our friends had starlink so we always had service

The other nice thing about onx is that you can filter out what roads you want to look for, or even single track for the motos. They all just take time
to learn and use.

I switched to OnX Offroad once Gaia become so glitchy that it was unusable for me. OnX seems to do everything I want it to do. I feel like it could be
more polished, but it works, which is more than I can say about Gaia. One of the main features OnX seems to push is their public/private land data.
This is obviously useless in Baja.
All I need in Baja is an offline satellite map that I can create routes in beforehand. Playing on my Tacoma's display through Apple Carplay is also a
requirement. OnX does these basic functions well enough.
It does not have nearly as many maps available as Gaia. The way it handles selecting map areas to download is a little clunky, but not terrible. I
have no idea how OnX handles importing / exporting routes and waypoints, as I don't need or use this function.

Onx pays people to map trails so there's a lot of guides now in Baja.

I use it a lot alongside Gaia, Trails Offroad and other resources. Feel free to DM me on FB if you want to discuss details. I prob have a 6 month
trial card somewhere if you want one.
Per Scott's comment above, onX does employ a few paid ambassadors but the majority of the trail submissions are from volunteer Trail Guides.
I like to explore remote dirt tracks and beaches.
