Surf fishing La Paz area

Hi All,

I’d like to try out surf fishing around the La Paz area. I was wondering what tackle, bait, and places. I’ve done a little of this on the east coast of USA but don’t have any gear down here. I don’t mind buying whatever I need but I don’t really want to just waste my time( not that valuable) and money and not catch anything.

Pacific side is best. Not much surf fishing around La Paz. And it's fishing not catching.

Nothing worth fishing for in that surf fishing zone. As Mula said try Pacific side if you can. It can be spectacular.

Ok. So pacific side it is. I can drive over there. Now to specifics: what kind of rig? Bait? Is it best where there are rocks, etc. near shore? Any ideas would be helpful.

And if there’s no catching, it’s not fishing- just boring.

Go see the fellas at Tridente tackle in La Paz. They will hook you up with tackle and where to go.

If you don’t enjoy fishing, maybe you should take up golf :lol:

There is some good fishing in la Paz. I have only fished that area once, but had a great time fly fishing from the shore on punta area.
I am sure there is some good shore fishing around. Just stop and chat up the next person you see fishing from the shore…
