CBX and FMM in 2026
I've been through CBX before but I understand there are changes in last year or so with the FMM
We are just going for a 4 days
Do we still fill out a FMM?
Do we have to pay?
Any recent info and experience appreciated
I know its no big deal and its easy but getting in the vacation mode and excited so always like to know what to expect or sort of!

Have fun! I'm trying to remember my last trip thru there......I filled out an FMM headed to Mazatlan for 4 days and the lady at Mex Customs just
tossed it in the trash and stamped my passport.
But the legal rules I cannot seem to remember at the moment. I remember it's no charge if under 7 days or something.
Others will hopefully chime in.
I filled it out online and printed it.
You shouldn't have to pay for 4 days per new rules.

CBX immigration just stamps your passport (no paper fmm given out). You pay if staying over 7 days. All handled at the immigration in cbx, easy
peasy.
No need to fill out anything before, all handled at immigration as you cross cbx.

We just got back and here is the latest since CBX changes quite a bit
On the US side there is no FMM fill out stations anymore, you just go throught the CBX gates and walk to Mex side.
The first line you come to is a line where they ask if you are staying 7 days more or less. If more you go to a kiosk, fill out your FMM and pay. If
less you go straight to the Immigration line. The Immigration officer was much different than normal and they were asking for your return ticket as
proof of less than 7 days. We had it but not sure what would happen if you planned to drive home which we sometimes do...
After the Immigration back in line to put your bag through a scanner
Then on to the ticketing/bag check line.
Then downstairs to the security line/check point.
Then to your gate.

Thanks for the update. That sounds like it could potentially cause a delay if you need to go to the FMM line, which I'll need to do on my upcoming
trip.
I currently have an FMM good for like another 120 days, but I think the Bajabound video I recently saw says they won't accept that one since it was
issued at a land crossing border.

A bit off-topic, but just a heads-up if you have temporary or permanent residency. Larger Mexican airports now have passport scanners at immigration.
Some residents have reported being directed towards these scanners, the airport workers assuming they are tourists.
If you are a Mexican resident, you need to line up at the immigration booth- do not use the scanners- they will register you as a tourist, and your
residency will no longer be valid. And it's always best to present your residency card first to the immigration agent, your passport after, so they
don't mistakenly put you down as a tourist.

Doesn't take much extra time. Maybe a couple minutes at worst.
Cbx treats the fmm per law, it is only good for one entry. On paper You need a new fmm every time you cross border.
