Machine shop
Anybody got a better translation for this, maybe live near one? I don't think much of my dictionary example; taller de maquinas (for mfg. and repair
of machines). And maquinista for machinist doesn't really get it either. Maquinista is usually a typist. These just don't conjure up the image of
someone turning parts on a metal lathe.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.

In La Paz the general use term for a machine shop is (torno)

I think Larry's got it. "Torno" is just the lathe and it's basically the same for a wood or metal lathe. Taller de Maquinados and Maquinador does at
least offer a distinction from maquinas and maquinista that could apply to such a wider variety of things.

I stand corrected. So, do they call the machinist a "tornero, tornista or torneador"?

The word you probably are looking for is Maquinados, but in general use the word the general mexican population in La Paz use is (TORNO). Tilt game
