Bahia de Los Angeles - week of 10/16

Made an all-too-brief trip to BDLA a couple of weeks ago - a short slideshow can be found at:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/tropicoduke/slideshow?.dir=/f5...
(may have to cut and paste - sorry)

As you can see the whale sharks were still there and, yes, that is me sporting the big Baja grin.

For those apprehensive travelers here, the trip down and back was remarkably uneventful. Three checkpoints on the way north where they seemed somewhat more cautious than usual but no big deal.

Great time of year to visit and the town was somewhat more lively than some other posters noted the week before.

Viva!

Stayed at Villa Bahia - Jean, Roger and their pooches are very gracious hosts and offer apartment-type units for a very reasonable price. We also ate breakfast daily at the much-maligned Los Vientos. Claudio is the new manager there and he seems dedicated to making the place work - give it a shot! :D

We are heading down there in a few weeks. Visited last winter as well but never saw whale sharks! Your pictures are getting me excited to return.

Great Pix, I was down for thanksgiving, plenty of dolphins but no whale sharks. Did you go out fishing with Alfredo from Villa Bahia? All checkpoints were unmanned on the way back - strange !
