Don Alley, I assume that one of your photos,the one with the green off to the right is a sunrise, based on the islands beyond your position on the
beach in Loreto. 
It would appear that the "green flash" exists in sunrises too. (I have never heard that, though) 
 
The black and white photo from tripledigitken reminds us that great composition and technique makes great art. It is as competitive as any color
photo. Whereas color jumps out at you, B&W draws you in and the result is very gratifying. 
 
I cannot comment on all the photos that are coming in, some are stunning! Casa, you got a contest goin' on!
