unless someting new has changed and that could be but i think it would have been all over the BBP if so.
Juan y juan might chime in here, or Carlos Fiesta?
great news IF there is now landings there.

Just a quick chime in. Was at San Juanico yesterday, dense, I mean dense, fog until about 10 am.
Highway coming right along. But beware the section from Zaragoza north for about 20 miles. Hell holes doe not properly describe the baches.

there's no nearby weather station to san juanico so be very suspect any forecasts or specific weather conditions unless they are on the ground.

...the San Juanico Weather Station is always 100% correct 24/7. Check back here for up-to-the-minute reports. You'll always get the correct weather
day and night!

Good on you for the no fly
A little off, but around the topic. The north road through the salt flats, for some strange reason, had it's long flat strips dug up with small
trenches running perpendicular through the road every 15 to 20 yards or so. This trenching was done by the military. The trenches were only about 8
inches wide and deep and about 10 to 15 feet long across the long packed down saltflat straight aways. I thought they might be there to stop
unauthorized landing. Then I drove across a few of them instead of taking a road around and I hardly even felt the trenches. I thought "these
wouldn't stop a plane from landing here." Any insight on what those militares might be up to?

I heard the ditches were to stop narcotraficantes from landing at remote landing strips.

yes, those trenches are specifically to prohibit landings of light AC.
trust me, hitting one on rollout or touch down will ruin your day and wreck your plane.
