Sweet trip to Bahia Los Angeles, Gonzaga and San Felipe Memorial day week.

On my second day of work at my new job I left the bay area close to 6pm on 5/22, arriving in San Diego about 1:30. Got 3 hours of sleep and headed out to Bahia de Los Angeles arriving just before 3PM. Last gas was at Rosario before making it to Bahia which had 2 stations open.
Had enough time to set-up a guided fish tour with Rapha's son Juan. The group caught about 35+ fish (about half bottom feeders) the next day including yellow tail that were biting even after noon! Very nice day though it had been very windy the previous day. Weather was absolutely perfect! Kayaked around a bunch and did some hiking around our remote site in Punta Gringa.

Left after lunch on Friday arriving in camp encantado area beach (I believe) around 7pm about 5 miles up from Gonzaga. Station in Gonzaga had gas (87 unleaded only) and was closing as we arrived just after 5pm. Had to take it real slow in my Subaru legacy with minimal clearance. Needed the 4wd for the sand tracks, but what I really needed was some more clearance! Left at 6AM the next morning to make it to Puertecitos by 10AM. Road is almost done there except for the new diversion around town, apparently HWY 5 via puertecitos is private property? Some serious valdos coming out from there even on the new road which is already getting scraped away from folks bottoming out.
San Felipe of course was a mess for the weekend but still had good times with about 25+ friends that came down to enjoy the fish! Left around 7:30PM from San Felipe Sunday and had to wait 1hr at Mexicali before getting back to San Diego around 1:30AM.

Thank you for all the info knowledgeable folks gave on here to prepare for this trip!

The second pic is from the top of the hill on Punta Gringa looking north. The left side being the inside of BoLA and the right side more into the sea with the islands in the background of the far right.
