Timbabichi, This area is north of San Evaristo, usually only accessible by boat, but have heard that it is accessible by vehicle but have no knowledge
of how. The area is very popular with Yachties, if you have Sea of Cortez maps it is north of Isla San Jose and Santa Cruz. Probably 80 miles as the
crow flies north of La Paz.

I was there last year on a boat. There was a road headed out of there but I couldnt say if it was passable.

Well if you want gossip there are some Canadians trying to buy it. Now what else is new I think you could just about make that statement about any
part of Baja. That is still Ejidio land so they will probably have a Mexican Partner.

Why would you think it is ejido land???
The land has been in the same family for over 100 years.

In the old days I used to fly in, camp, and fish at Tembabiche. At that time there was an old road that had been washed out by too many chubascos but
there was an old travel trailer up above the airstrip. I have some great pictures of the old hacienda with a cardon cactus growing on the second
floor. They pretty much leveled out the landing strip by hand and painted the rocks on the outside white so that you knew where the strip was. You
could only land coming in over the ocean and if you made an error, the rock wall at the end of the runway was a real problem. The school, built by
the government, had ropes connected to the roof and when the building would lean one direction, the village got together and pulled the ropes on the
opposing side until the building was again straight. Seemed to me there were about 10 families who lived there, fishing, farming, and raising some
small amount of livestock. They had a small generator and sometimes in the evening everybody would get together at the main house and watch tv for an
hour or two in the evening. Seems like they really liked Dallas with Spanish dubbing.
I recently talked to some friends from Loreto and Constitucion who claim that a lot of people from Constitucion drive the road regurlarly now for
drug hauls. They claim that a lot of drugs are hauled in there, people with 4x4s go in and get paid a certain amount per load. Don't know if this is
true but it made me a little leary about wanting to drive anywhere after dark.

Sad to hear the last part of the post. So the Airstrip is usable by small plane ??

Really don't know what the current status is, we used to fly there back in 85 or 86. It was listed on Senterfitt's guide. You could try posting that
question on Baja Bush Pilots and someone there will be able to tell you. Or send an e-mail to Mike and Brenda at Palapa 206 in Consititucion at
