lack of humor has soured me from this place. I am not bored, scared, self important, dillusional, or argumentative. Life is good, travel and new

Cap,
I was trying to give you support, in my sometimes sarcastic way. Levity is a good thing where it is sometimes hard to find. Your humor was a good
contribution.
On this board we have witnessed many "shared experiences of like-minded people" and some not so like-minded people. I enjoy the dissension that often
occurs here. People are speaking their personal truths and find many different ways of expressing them. For me, the only thing that I will not
tolerate is rudeness and name calling. That is a tactic used by the mean-spirited who revel in their own hate.

Hurray!
I was so happy when I heard that the guy in the relatively white had won the election and that the average Mexican could stand just a little prouder
as a result of the election.

Cap,
Hang in the background and check in once in a while.
This forum can be informative and fun if you don't let yourself get sucked in to the emotions of it all.
Anytime you wish to chime in, your views are welcome and appreciated .
I too, almost left this forum early on, I felt it was a little brutal ..... since then I have met good people and have gratefully
received much good advice and support from new friends.

To me the fundamental question about this election is:
How is it posible that a man with such horrid and putrefact backround, was able to win the port of mayor of Tijuana, and almost win the Governorship?
those that claim it was his money are wrong, Hank is indeed very wealthy, but not that much in a state with a GDP of almost 40 billion dollars and
several million people.
The big question is what is the PAN doing, that Bajacalifornians are willing to consider putting their trust on Hank's hands?

Jesse...I was not kidding as Bernie eluded to...I would like to understand the culture that would "almost" elect a character such as "putrefact"
Hank...yet Dennis dose not consider the winner as any good either. I understand the Governor now is PAN another Pan is nothing new or maybe it is...he
is Conservative, I don't know that PAN is...is not Osana's relationship to Felipe Calderon, a reason to vote Osana, in the hope he will push Felipe
Calderon agenda to stop corruption and Drugs??? I also feel Hank's vote % would be what I guess is the corrupt entity in B.C. now...it take a large %
to keep corruption in power...does it not???
Will you translate "putrefact"....may not be what I think it is

Whoa, Albert, whoa..........
My statement, "Same'ol Same'ol" was directed toward a system that repels change. I have no opinion, other than good, about Sr. Osuna.
I hear the same on the streets daily.
Sorry I misled you.

Yeah.......... It's scary. 43% of the voters prefer this thug over a decent candidate. Could he have bought that many votes? Traded for bags of
groceries? Or is he just the Pancho Villa of his time?

I did misunderstand...sorry about that. This is a complicated culture, and after 70 years of PRI Ruling party...I thought PAN was change...or at least
a new level of..."Same'ol Same'ol"

All culture is steeped in dogma .... and dogma is resistant to change ..... as the dogma builds then stagnation sets in.
So cultures then need periodic upheaval and reevaluation of their core belief systems .... or even as Rome , they increase the opportunity for
failure and collapse .....
Just a thought,

The state has 4 million people, Theres 2,105,000 registered voters, about 20% of those no longer reside in the state, so that leaves 1,685,000.
Considering 70% of real registered voters do not vote, that leaves only 505,500 people who did vote. Hank got 43% of those 505,000 so that comes out
to 217,300 people out of 4 million.
Hank was overrated and only taking advantage of the lack of will of residents to vote.

Honestly, i think Mexico is a perfect example of why american style democracy does not work for all nations. Our culture is simply incapable of making
it work the way you do, so i believe democracy needs to be taylored to individual nations until they can understand and use the system to their
advantage.

Jesse..........
I couldn't agree more. Our style of democracy is unique to us and we shouldn't be forceing it on others.
I believe the US could benefit from a review of our rendition of democracy as well.
Anyway, the vote in Mexico seems to have come a long way. That's as important as anything.

I also agree...and that is why I am so interested...I think I see real change coming. I do not think patterning their Democracy after the US is a good
or needed...I think democrates are to far left and Republican are to far right....that makes our system flawed...or at least over burdened
