Raquel and Larry's

Does anybody know the current status of Raquel and Larry's (I am aware of the tragic death of Raquel)?

I tried to email at bahiatours@aol.com but email was bounced back.

Are they open for business? Rates? Restaurant open? Air conditioning operational?

Thanks,

Preston

It's not @aol.com!

Let me check on Mia's site... http://www.bahiadelosangeles.info/bahia-info/raquel-larry.ht...

Yup it's @yahoo.com

I was camping at Daggett's next door back in March. We went to Larry's & Rachael's almost every day for breakfast. Sure beats camp breakfasts plus nice to talk to the patrons. We would have stayed there but they do not permit campers just hotel guests. I forget the woman's name running the place in Larry's absence but she is a task master. She helped run Larry's business in Ensenada and he asked to relocate to BOLA to run the hotel there. Larry happened to come down the week we were there and I had an opportunity to talk to him. He was quite jovial, witty and talkative but I know he was grieving inside. Great place, well run, resonable rates for hotel living in BOLA, food is still delicious and ambiance is incredible. If I was a hotel type I'd stay there but do not miss the food.

All:

Thanks for the update on the status of Raquel and Larry's (David: sorry ... I did use the yahoo address and it was bounced) ... and the evaluations of the cooking status.

I'll stop by and give an update when I return ... but thanks again.

Having no luck contacting them right now.

Thanks,
Tex

Haven't been there since 3/07. We camped at daggett's and ate breakfast at R&L's place. If I remember correctly their one beach house rented for $110/nite and the rooms were about $50/nite.

Over New Year's 2003 when Gecko was full, the Humfreville's and Debra rented the house at Raquel & Larry's and my kids and I set up our tents in front...

David is right, however..........the 10 bed house for the per nt. rate turned into (once we arrived) the $100 plus $10pp., we had 9 people if I remember right, so make sure you clarify before you commit.. We weren't prepared for the rate to double.

Funny as usual Tom, but the kids and I didn't arrive at Raquel & Larry's until a few days AFTER Debra and the Humfreville's did. We first camped north of Bahia de los Angeles at Bahia Guadalupe and Punta Candelero.

that doesn't seem too much to pay...very fair

think how much water 9 people use each day...

plus....wear and tear...

did the $10 per day cover the camping spot too???

Bob, what is going to be your policy when someone decides to set up a tent camp in front of one of the five, or is it six, casitas you have built?

What 'original post'? This wasn't a thread began by me, but you used it to promote your hate DK stuff with the silly comment to Debra, which I am only correcting. The same old minnow is back... and you promissed to play nice if Doug let you back on, too...
