Does anyone in the Los Barilles area catch their own live bait, if so, how hard are bait schools to find?

Bairbait........ I fished on the East Cape last week and sardinas were thick along the shoreline from El Cardinal to Punta Pericho. Two good throws
with a cast net would fill up your baitwell.

Cypress........ Yes, it is illegal for a foreigner to use a cast net in Mexico, but it is not illegal for a foreigner to use the work product of a net
cast by a Mexican citizen.

Only the FIRST TWO fish may be caught with live bait. After that, only live bait is allowed:

Hmmm...then can someone explain the "bait ball" concept for me? I seem to be drawn to this feature with circling baby sharks in LB each time I get
downwind into the dead zone while windsurfing!

I've been gone a few days, thanks for the replies. I guess I'll have to take a Mexican fishing every day to throw the net.! Actually I already knew
of the net restriction, I was refering to using sabiki rigs, but after reading Gene Kira's article I can only use 4 hooks.

I'd be interested in the same question (sabiki rig bait, e.g. mackeral or big eye).
BTW, for East Cape or La Paz people, there is a very large school of tuna about a mile off the Ensenda de Muertos launch ramp--enough tuna that the
Las Arenas fleet seems to have moved to E. de M., at least temporarily, and the Giggling Marlin is now charging 150p to launch there. Today the fish
were about 80' deep and the preferred rig seemed to be fluorocarbon leaders with a rubber line weight and a small sardine.
