Bahia Asuncion
Does anyone have any pictures of Bahia Asuncion? The Blowhole will be my destination.
I am in the planning stages of my first trip south of the border and am not known for my "go with the flow" attitude. "Need a plan!!" I would like to
"see" where I'm going.
I've ordered all the appropriate books, (Church, Cummings and Peterson) and applied for my first Passport.
What I'm getting from the forums here is; Cross in daylight hours, stop for tourist card, use Mex1 toll road and get south of Ensenada ASAP. Stop for
1st night in San Quintin or Catavina.
Drive carefully (slow) and bring one of everything as a spare. Did I forget anything important? Oh yeah, don't wash my rig while in Mexico!!
Thanks.

We also have several of Bahia Asuncion in our webshots listed in our signature. Included in those pictures are pictures of Shari's beach house and
her San Roque house.
When are you planning on coming down here?

The pictures are great!!! This looks like just the kind of place I've been looking for.
I plan on getting there in early January. Is the road closed due to sand on a regular basis? It looks like I could get my motorhome around the dune
if the shoulder isn't too soft?
Didn't see too many people in the one album I looked at, is it siesta time?
Thanks for the pictures.

The dune is usually cleared when it gets too big to cross.
The good thing is that if you did get stuck, everyone would have to stop and help or they couldn't get past !

Shari,
Did talk to Jorgie and he assured me that it could be done. Pretty much reiterated what all you guys have told me. Thanks everyone.
See you in January. (Trying to learn some spanish in the meantime.)

Hi Diane
I checked out your web shots looking for more pictures of BA. Imagine my shock when I see pictures of right here. Rattlesnake Point on Kalamalka
Lake and then the Enderby flea market. Tim and I are in Vernon BC. We are leaving here Dec 15 and want to spend the major part of our 4 weeks at
Bahia Asuncion.
We are reading alot of the posts here daily. My poor 2 brain cells are soaked up with all the info. But am I correct...do you also live at BA?
Perhaps we will meet.
I sent Shari an email on Nov 4 with more questions but have yet to hear back, sent another one this morning through her link. So hopefully soon.
You all sound like you know each other. One big family. Talk to you again.

Howdy Barb,
Yes Trotters have a place in Asuncion and seem to be there more than half the time since they settled in.
When are you planning to be there ?
Coming to camp, RV or B&B ?
A number of us will be down for large parts of the holiday season and Shari is working on a plan for a Jan 3 get together.

I know this will be a tough one but here goes. Several people in town here have asked me where in Mexico I was going. I stumble and stutter trying
to pronounce "Asuncion". It's pretty embarrassing when you can't even tell folks where you're going.
Can anyone give me an idea how the word sounds? Phonetic or something?
Thanks.

Had a GREAT time in British Columbia---such a beautiful place. And we will visit again---but right now yikes, with our dollar so weak, and yours so
strong, the gasoline prices would break the bank.
We do have a home here in Bahia Asuncion, but are not here all the time. We also still have our home in the San Diego area---but it gets more
difficult to leave Bahia Asuncion all the time. We should be here at least part of the time you are and we are not difficult to find.
Hope Shari has answered your questions, but she has been majorly busy lately, so if we can answer any questions, just send a U2U.
Have a great trip down
Diane

Ken, that phonetic pronunciation is a riot, given the influx of buyers in the area.

Hi Diver
We plan on leaving here Dec 15. Depending on weather and road conditions make it to the border in 3-4 days. We have to stop in at San Quintin and
see if we can still get cracked crab. Sure hope so. I can't remember what it tastes like. How sad is that? Its been about 10 years. I am thinking
we will be in Bahia Asuncion by the 23rd. Right now we are thinking of just planting our butts there for the duration so we may be bringing in the
New Year together. Gonna play it one day at a time.
We are travelling by our 26 ft Motor Home. We just got it used (new to us) Sept. long weekend. We have only used it 3 times before getting it
winterized so its still a learning experince. But what fun so far.
So if you see two chunky pale faces with silly grins and a crotch sniffin dog, that be us.

Hi Diane
Yes Shari emailed me yesterday and answered my questions. Your right she is very busy.
I just might take you up on that U2U. Have not been on a forum quite like this but imagine it is like a private message.
Something I can ask right now. Hope its not too sensitive. Are there lots of kids? I was thinking I could hit the dollar store and pick up some
Christmas gifts. Just little stuff like coloring books and crayons, games, that sort of thing. Or is that too forward?
