Thanks, Grover
Truly fascinating, eh? She makes you feel as if you were there with her trying to help the Americans.
Thanks for posting that!

Hey Grover thanks for posting that site on Mama Espinoza. Here are a few more sites for Mama Espinoza. One of the sites has something she wrote entitled "100 Anos" which I presume she wrote for her her 100th birthday. It is in Spanish and I will see if my command of the Spanish language allows me to translate it into English. I am not that good though.

100 YEARS
For my children my Grandchildren my Great Granchildren and Great Great Grandchildren

My children never separate from the commandmants of God. Keep them in your hearts, because with the love of God your lives and peace will only increase for you. Never separate yourselves from mercy and truth. Keep them in the depths of your heart with grace and good opinion before the eyes of God and man.

Dona Ana 16/Oct/2007

My meager attempt at translation. Will someone please help.

Here is the link to what Mama Espinoza wrote as well as photos of her 100th birthday party.

Mama Espinoza in a book called "Baja Legends." It is in Chapter 7. Just keep scrolling down.

Grover I think you did a great job writing that out from the internet site.

In the Flying Samaritans part, could she be saying "collapse"?

In the verse at the end, I read it as, "is found the lasting joy of giving."

Elinvest18, the mystery word looks like misericordia to me.

Thanks for posting, this is interesting and enjoyable reading.

Thank you Kate, you were right on. Now I can finish my translation of what she wrote. I hope it's right.
