Loreto SAPAL (water) question

For the past few years, I've been able to pay my SAPAL / water bill a year (in advance) at a time. A couple of weeks ago, when I was in Loreto, I (and a few others wishing to do the same) was told that was no longer possible.

I was told that it would be possible to pay the water bill via internet, and the staff lady wrote out "Sost. de Agua Potable del H. Ayuntamento de Loreto" and my acct. #.

Back in Id.... been looking dozens of times and ways of searching.... Nada..

Anyone from Loreto know the latest or have an actual web link??

I DID find this....

I did find this contact info (it is dated a little as I know Hugo is now building homes rather than serving as SAPAL director)

ORGANISMO OPERADOR MPAL. DEL SISTEMA DE
AGUA POTABLE Y ALCANTARILLADO DE LORETO (OOMSAPAL)
PASEO PEDRO DE UGARTE Y LAIMONES
COL. CENTRO
23880 LORETO, B.C.S.
DIR. GRAL. ING. HUGO QUINTERO MALDONADO
TELS 613) 135 0007 FAX 13 511 04
E mail: oomsapaloreto@prodigy.net.mx

I emailed the above email address posing my question.... (Thank goodness for Babelfish for translations ! ! !)

I'd love to know what other Loreto folks have discovered.

I'm there occasionally only, don't have a building on my lot yet, and simply want to stay current on my SAPAL bills....

Mulege doesn't allow us to prepay the water bill as of this year either. They are cool with waiting until we return for the season to pay for the months in arrears. No penalty. They can do this because, so far, they haven't installed meters. It is a flat rate. I have heard that there are plans for meters, though.

Thanks Toneart.

I've heard similar for Loreto about meters coming... Loreto is a flat rate for those of us without meters yet also. ($56 P / month).

In the past Loreto's SAPAL has charged some folks penalties for being delinquent for an extended period of time.

Anyone in Loreto hear anything else new on this??

We haven't heard anything new, but thanks for the reminder to go pay our bill!!! We forget, and the penalties are painful.

Our water pressure is so low I don't think it can spin a meter.

Too funny !!

Hi D,

Is your buddy Steve still kicking aroung Loreto....? He was next door to us Thanksgiving week at C.C., and it seemed like he was ready to uproot and make the plunge. Funny fellow... we had some good laughs.

Seriously.... if you hear of an on-line or other way to pay (as we were suggested was possible), let me know... I'll be down again for a week after Christmas, and I may need to have someone just pay my SAPAL bill monthly for me until something else is actually available. We can pay our CFE auto pmt. via Bancomer, but not our SAPAL.... wishful thinking, I guess...

Might see you then! I'll be at C. C. again 12/27 - 1/5 or so...

Hope you and Misty are well and happy.

If you have a peso account with Banamex, I think that you can pay your water bill by logging on to Banamex....

I pay my Telmex and my power bill this way on line....

David, Steve leaves today at 3 and like many first time visitors he is all pumped up to move here. We will see what happens after he gets home and the Baja glow fades away.

I'm headed down to pay my water bill tomorrow, I will see what the deal is with paying on line. If its possible, I will do it too.

Cya later this month

Thanks Dan!

If you are able, would you also please check Immigracion's holiday days / hours. I'd like to get my FM3 renewal started 12/28 if they'll be open... And wondering if they'll be open Jan 2, 3, 4....?

You and Misty need anything small brought down from up north? Seems I brought misty some special flavored (ground, I think....) coffee a few years back which she had a hankering for :-).

David.

David, if you come through Oregon, would you pick us up a bottle of Argyle champagne. I think that is the only state that has it.

I'll see if it is available...!

I'll check around and see if it is available here, Dan. I'm flying down, so can't carry it on, but maybe I can check a small bag and super-pack it.... I'll see if anyone in the Coeur d'Alene, Spokane area has it since I'm not driving down.

Did you learn anything from SAPAL (or INM's Holiday hours?)

I called Honorio at INM, and learned that they ARE supposed to be open on 12/28 (good), but he didn't seem to know the post Ney Years hours... OR our connection was so bad he didn't understand what I was asking...

Thanks for the link, Diver, but Wine.com is sold out of it !
