La Paz airport experience needed por favor-

Hola fellow Nomads- Bases on your experience, here’s the trip I am hoping to get ideas on for improvement: mid-January I fly from La Paz to Zihuatanejo to finalize a condo purchase. It’s a week trip and the Gardinas Hotel (way north of the La Paz airport unfortunately) will store my truck for the week for free if I stay one night at both ends of the week trip. To meet the 6:40AM departure I need a taxi to get me at 4AM…humm? Is this as efficient as it can be….have you stored your car close to the La Paz airport before? Is there an “airport shuttle” that you know of? Is there a close-to-the-airport motel you know of that will store a car for a week? ALL suggestions very welcome mi fellow nomads.

There IS a relatively new hotel/motel on the hwy in Chametla about a mile from the airport (can't think of the name....will get it today on my way into town if no one else comes up with it first!) and you're welcome to park your car at my casa in Lomas Centenario. Hotel could arrange for taxi to take you to the airport at that UNGAWDLY hour (there IS a limit to my offers of assistance, and anything before 7 AM qualifies!):lol:

Edited to remove comment said in jest, including laughing emoticons to indicate it was in jest.

If my memory serves me right, the cab ride fron the airport into La Paz was at a set $270 pesos a few years back.( Ridiculous). My motel, El Moro, arraigned for a ride for me for a mere $180 pesos. And, for comparison, the fare in Guadalajara from downtown to the airport, probably 20 miles, was $ 5.00 US. Go figure.:?::?::no::no:

I think my photographic memory ran out of film

The name of the place is Hacienda del mar, phone is 124-7001 or 124-7002. It's on the hwy at the far end of Chametla from La Paz. Approximately 1 mile from the airport. Couldn't find a website, so no idea what their rates are.
