Cash in Baja??

Hi Nomads,
I'm going to Baja soon for a few weeks, I'll spend a few days in Mulege and other places. When I travel I generally don't bring cash with me, I just withdraw it at ATMs, will I be able to do that at Mulege or should I bring cash?
How much cash can one person legally bring in when crossing from the US?
Gracias a todos!
Sapo

There is an ATM--a bank, even--in Mulege now.

There are ATMs almost everywhere. Don't carry any more cash than necessary.
Welcome to BajaNomad and have a great trip.

You don't need cash in Mulege...unless you want to buy something.. in that case go to the bank downtown...easy to find they are on the street that goes under the bridge.
Second question $10,000...

Notify your bank that you will be in Mexico.

Oh yeah...that's important. If they see a bunch of international activity on your card, they'll take it upon themselves to freeze your account untill you call them. What a pain. It has happened to me five or six times. Your first call goes to India, then.......... Well, you get the picture.

Actually you can bring more than $10,000 you just have to declare it with CBP.
