Helping someone get this translated... construction.
This poor fellow needs this translated and nobody's replied where this was posted:
Hola,
I bought some property in Las Tunas outside of Todos Santos. I'm trying to get a feel for the cost of construction. My builder said this:
EL PRECIO DE CONSTRUCCION QUE ESTOY DANDO DE PENDE DE LOS METROS CUADRADOS, POR EJEMPLO 60 M2 LO TENGO A 8,000 PESOS, Y DE 100 M2 EN ADELANTE CUESTA
7,000, PESOS, TERMINADOS ESTE, PRECIO, ESTA SUJETOS ACAMBIO, SIN PREVIO AVISO....GRACIAS Y SALUDOS.. I'm trying to find out what a 2600 sq foot home
would cost. Anyone know what he's telling me? Thx.

I think he's saying that the unit price is inversely proportional to the size of the house. For 60 square meters the unit price is 8000 pesos/square
meter, for 100 square meters the unit price is 7000 pesos/square meter. But I will defer to someone who REALLY speaks Spanish

The price of construction depends on the square meters. For example I charge 8,000 Pesos for up to 60 square meters. For 100 square meters and up I
charge 7,000 Pesos. This price is subject to change without notice. Thank you and greetings.

And for goodness sake he shouldn't even be considering hiring someone he can't speak with in one language. That is nuts!

It seemed important to get this fellow an answer... the question was posted on another forum and I would have just directed him here for a quick
reply, but the moderator of that forum has removed posts mentioning 'Baja Nomad' before... Thanks agian.

Those prices are really low now for Las Tunas. I wonder just what level of finishing he is going to get...? I have heard gringo-centric prices at
around $100 - $120 per sq ft (roughly 10,000 - 12,000 pesos per sq mtr)

Perhaps you knowledgeable Nomads would go to the forum thread where he asked the question? (if he emails me, I will tell him about Baja Nomad)
The link to the thread (on Baja Quest's forums): http://bajaforums.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5026097171/m/667103...
I am sure he would appreciate the insight before making a financial blunder in Todos...

No way Jose!
I check a couple of other Baja message boards that get so little traffic that people never get an answer to their questions! They don't know about
Nomad and before when I would suggest they come here also and ask, the post was removed or wouldn't go up because "BajaNomad" I guess is a taboo word
there! LOL So, being that I want to help people, I will either email them if possible and tell them about Nomad or ask the question myself.

The price is whatever the guy said, plus sbout another 50% for things that were not included, and maybe another 20 percent for increased costs of
materials between the time you decide to build and when you actually buy the materials...
For example, there is a lady here in Todos Santos who paid for a finished house. After the foundation, the castillos and the walls were erected, and
before the roof was done, she was informed that the finished house DID NOT include a roof!
Make sure that whatever the bid is for, that it is itemized in detail so you know what you are going to get for your money. If it is not in the
estimate, it will NOT be included. It only makes common sense!
