If it is the size of a Rottweiler I would definitely keep your cats in a safe place!

Palapa spider
That's what a Mexican in Todos told me. They hang in drawers and closets and aren't harmful but keep the environment clean by eating small bugs,
etc.

I would hazard that it is what they call a wolf spider. Not because they eat wolves, I hope. I am told they are harmless and eat lots of things
you'd rather not have in your house. But tell Diane that and ask her to keep it company... it takes a braver man than me

The last one of these, on instructions from my wife, died an ignominious death on the end of a Teva after being soaked in XXX spray.

If it's sort of hairy, it may be a wolf spider, although the ones I've seen are a lot hairier than this one. This might be a cane spider, which is
also harmless, shy, and a great hunter!

Found one in our house too.
Harmless or not, name or no name, I was immediately ordered to do away with it. Having no say in the matter, I used our bug zapper flyswatter. The
spider sparked a few times and started to smoke a bit, but as soon as I let off on the power button, he scampered away.
Haven't seen him since so I assume he's moved next door.

It's loose in your bedroom? Oh good grief Kate! Move out now and take the cats with you! That's a monster spider!
But actually, I'm surprised your gatos haven't already done away with the monster. Is it that they're just too relaxed living the baja lifestyle?
Are you soaking their kibbles in Don Julio? If so, I offer to move down and be in charge of security. Sounds like something I could be really good
at.

I think its a "Cane" spider. We picked one up in our tent trailer inBCS and hauled it around for a week. Had us spooked, thought we'd get rid of it
and it would turn up again. Made it all the way home with us. About 3 inches in diameter and really fast!

Beware of visiting Nomads!
As some of you may have noticed on the forum, Ana and I had some La Paz area Nomads over Saturday evening for a little socializing. Little did we
realize that Kate was going to use this as "pay back" time. As you can see from her old thread, Kate thinks our spider moved to her house to terrorize
her after the shock treatment therapy it received at our place.
Well fellow Nomads, she must have trapped that dang spider and has been feeding it mice or miracle grow or something for the last month. I suspect she
released it into our kitchen when everyone had their backs turned watching me grill a bacon wrapped Pacifico (I am a trained professional, don't try
this at home.) Today the gigantic beast pushed the refrigerator aside and crawled up the wall. It was the sound of his footsteps that aroused me. Here
it is. The photo is a little blurry as my hand was shaking.

I slowly backed away without turning my back (I've seen those movies) and when safely away ran for my electronic bug zappers, of which I now have 3. I
alerted Ana to stay calm and lock the door. I crept back into the kitchen and put the fully charged zapper up to the monstrous spider. It started
kicking at the zapper but I held my ground. Sparks were flying and the crackling was ear splitting while the smoke began to bellow. When I thought it
had had enough (I didn't want to kill the batteries and be defenseless), I knock it onto my 2nd zapper. I proceeded to play badminton with it for a
while while it continued to sparkle and crack. I'm pretty sure it's dead now as it's in a garbage bag on the curb waiting for pick up.

This finally ends the saga of your spider Kate. And no coconuts for you.
RIP Spidey

No!! No!!!! I brought carnitas....remember?? Besides,
unlike Kate, if I'd have brought a spider it'd have either been in a jar with NO air holes....or I'd have smashed the spider snot right out of it!
Like Mr. & Mrs. BMG, I don't co-habitate well with spiders! Kate is obviously jealous of my adorable petite sloshy coconut! Hey!!
I can use it as a spider smasher since I don't have an electrified tennis racket! Thanks for the multi-functional payment BMG! Ratty chairs, indeed! Well, I never!
