nomad wine tasting

who would be interested in a nomad (bus) tour of guadalupe valley wineries? if there is interest, we could put something together that might be lots of fun. see several wineries, taste many wines and share a picnic lunch at bibayoff, where they are set up for picnics...

probably may or june would be good. by august, the vendimia is on and the wineries are busy preparing for their parties, and afterwards, the harvest is in and they have no time for anything but...the harvest.

any takers?

You guys have all the luck! So close to wineries that you don't have to plan your trip based on coming or going. Wish we could make it.

When someone wants to organize a wine DRINKERS safari instead of a sippers soirée, let me know. We'll hunt down the soul of Dago Red in the heartland of the wrathful grape.
Guadalupe Valley is the womb of the rightous wino where the neophyte vinoficionado can cultivate a nose, and vocabulary fit to carry one through the trenches of society's most grapeful occasions, including the first of the year cotillion sponsered by OUR club, Whinos....Whiners For wine.

A glossery of wine appreciation terms will follow, such as:

Nose......The exit hole for an over-large gulp of the red

Bouquet.......What you call that evacuation when it lands on your lady's white blouse
Fruity.....The salesman that sold you that particular bottle of Red

And, so many more terms which will establish you as an expert in vinicultura.

Join us if we ever get together.

Buy any Valle zin, uncork it, and let it stand for a few days. You'll have an outstanding madeira.

wine tasting

ok. this is a definite go, tentatively planning on saturday june 7, visiting:

vinisterra
pijoan
bibayoff
three women
monte xanic

we're leaving a lot out. (adobe guadalupe, chateau camou, liceaga, casa de piedra, baron balché, etc.). maybe we'll need a next time:lol:

we'll need to start bright and early to get all five, and probably set up a few pick-up points. please, those who have expressed interest, 2u2 me where you're coming from.

i will be finding out the cost of transport--at this point we need a mini bus; and the cost of tasting at each winery. sadly, they all charge now.:( five years ago none of these places charged.
i'll get back with details as they emerge.

thanks nomads!

Ya know, it might sound good, but I don't think it's a good idea. I would gladly pay extra for a small mini bus. That way we can all be together and eliminate losing anyone.
