rhintransit

I just sent a message off to Dave, he is the cyclist who stayed at our house last March. He has reached Peru on his bicycle and may have seen him along the way. I will let you know when I hear from him.

Just to clarify..

South to North... was his ride just in Baja or possibly the mainland?

Thanks for the info and keep us posted.

Also.. where was the last known contact that he had with his family?

rhintransit.. I know you might not have these answers; but, if you are able find out from someone or see more information on the other forum and post it here, it will greatly help us in the search.

rhintransit:

This is the email I received from our cyclist friend.

"I haven´t heard of him, but I am in the right place to ask. I am in Trujillo, again, waiting for some parts at the Casa de Ciclistas. I can look in the logbook and see if he came through here. Do you have any other info about him, route, website, last location, etc? The last couple weeks there have been some serious issues going on in the highlands of Peru, I hope he wasn´t near there."

Hope he turns up safe and well.

Don't really know your cyclists time frame, but I hope this helps.

I signed up after reading your posts here regarding warmshowers.org and your experience with your cyclist. I am in Blythe and have hosted twice now with both parties originating their rides from the San Diego area, heading east on the lower tier. I'm not clear which direction this rider is going and doubt I would encounter him, but there is quite of bit of info on the showers site and might be a source for locating him.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like we should be looking north of Guerrero Negro.

I could also assume that he may have never made it to the next watering hole with internet... which might have been El Rosario.

It's a pretty rough stretch of road there.. and most will never see the TV show recorded in DF.

If anyone is passing though this area and stops at a rancho or store.. it would be good to inquire.

Also.. is there any possibility of getting a photo of Antonnio? Perhaps a flier could be made, printed out via the internet, and posted on the route.
