ScotiaBank Cabo branch contact info
Has anyone been in contact with the ScotiaBank (Cabo branch) Fidei. dept recently?
I've tried 3 different employees that I've emailed in the past and all emails were returned as "undeliverable". I've been trying to call the branch
for the past week and the phone rings without any answer.
Any change to their contact information?

When we drove past the ScotiaBank in downtown Guaymas this week, there was MAJOR picketing going on. Dont know what it was about.

Very interesting. I can't find anything online about a bank-wide strike but it would explain the lack of response from CSL and the D.F. branches of
the bank that I tried to contact.
I'm sure they'll charge me a late payment penalty anyway even if I have been trying to contact them

The "Fidei" department of Scotia Bank has moved to the new Scotia Bank in San Jose. Our fidei is due in August so before leaving town last July we
walked over to mall to pay and that is how we learned about the move. They went ahead and accepted our payment at the Scotia Bank in the mall then
around the end of July we received an email from a Ms. Gonzales giving us instructions that we could pay via a wire transfer. We sent her a copy of
our receipt of payment and all was good but I think they have now stopped allowing payment at the Scotia Bank in the mall. We will find out next
summer.

Word among the capitanes over here is that a few years ago each shrimp boat contributed 800 kilos of shrimp. The monies from the sale of the shrimp
was to fund a pension plan for retired shrimp fisherman. The monies were put in ScotiaBank. No money was every paid out so the shrimpers are
protesting and want their money back. The bank does not want to give it back or does not have the authority to give it back.
I think Karen's explanation is more likely..............

Thanks Karen, I had no idea they moved but it's funny they didn't keep the same email addresses. Sra. Gonzales is one of the emails that was bounced
back to me?
Have I mentioned lately that dealing with Fideis has gotten very old.
I can see why the camaroneros would be very frustrated too.

La Paz Scotia Bank
I paid my fide at the Scotia in La Paz last fall and will be going back in a few weeks to pay again. I got the bill from the office in Tijuana via
email and went in and paid- I had a little trouble as they were't familiar with the process but when they put in the fide number they got our names
and the property and took my money. This year's bill shows we got credit for last year's payment--

While on the Scotia Bank topic....has anyone ever tried their Scotia Bank card at a Telecomm office...telegraph offices have a little card swiper
gismo for banking in areas where there are no banks and supposedly scotia bank is affiliated with them but here no one has ever tried a Scotia Bank
card....so I was just wondering if it works to withdraw money from a scotia bank account.
