Where could I obtain my visa, before I cross from North Baja to South Baja, and how do I obtain car insurance , do I get it on line Thanks. Lyn

if you have enough advance notice, we got both thru vagabundos del mar organization. im assuming you mean going from calif into baja....

We get our visas in tecate right there at the border....Park your vehicle this side....go to imigr.on the right by foot...Fill in the visa....walk across the street to the bank and pay for them....walk back across and get them stamped....Then back thru US customs to your vehicle and you're on your way

As for auto ins.....look up at the top of this page for the bajabound banner
We use them ...its SO easy and all done in a few minutes

We get our insurane online from Lewis and Lewis or Discover Baja.
Discover Baja travel club also does insurance, visas and fishing licenses by phone/email/mail.

Also, after you enter Baja and pass through the border area, take the second left and then the first right and you will be on the road the Ensenada !

There is a gas station on the left in the US, 2 blocks before the border if needed.

When you get your visa make such it is marked for 180 days. There is no extra cost..

We get our fishing license, car insurance, and FMT all from Vagabundos online. You can e-mail the forms and info and they will process it all. We got it all sent to us in 2 weeks from California to Vancouver Island. Truly simple. Just need to get the FMTs stamped at the border and everything is good to go.
