ATV found in Los Barriles
Dark green Arctic Cat 500 4x4 with back seat and front metal tote box. Hidden near our house in Los Barriles this morning at 4 AM, rider walked off
very fast with back pack. No license on ATV, no papers inside the storage box, almost new, tires look very new....Me thinks someone might be missing
his ATV. 624-141-0287 we will turn it in to the local police later today if no one claims it.

Bomberro,
Have you emailed Baja Pony Express ? I think you should try them or word of mouth for a day or so. The owners might have a hard time getting it back
from Police if not registered anywhere. Also check Quadman & Amigos.

I think if you turn it in to local police, the owner will NEVER find it. Just advertise a little wider and longer and keep it safe.

Amen to what Wilderone is saying.
Just advertize as widely as possible, because if you turn it in to the police, there will be no way it will be available to the rightful owner if they
ever show up.
Keep it with you, you have no responsibility for it, except that you might be enriched by the rightful owners showing up.

On the frame there will be a serial#, year of manufacture etc. Use that for verification

norte,
You just gave me a idea. I'm going down right know to take a photo of Vin info on my Quad. It might come in handy trying to get Quad back if ever
taken. I bought down here in '02 & never registered anywhere ! Thanks.

Photos of your vehicles are a good idea in the event they get "misplaced"....take quartering views from the left rear showing the rear, license plate
and left side, and the right front that show the front, license plate and right side. Also take photos of any specific identifying
marks.........inside and/or out.
FYI.........many states, upon request, will issue titles only (no registration or license plates) for ATV's or ORV's.....great way to prove ownership.

Capt Mike, it is not the ATV taken at El Rincon, I talked to them and its a bit different. The ATV was removed and so we do not have it here
anylonger...Its possible it was not stolen and just hidden to protect it while the owner was away? I looked for a frame number and could not find one,
I tried to find on on my ATV's and could only find one on the Honda, the Kawasaki could not find, they really hide them....Yes a photo is very
important, we lost an ATV two years ago, and looked through tons of photos and just by luck found one, good idea to take pictures of all vehicles and
boats, along with Vin numbers to have on hand....I will take my photos today!

If you haven't already, send the info to Cheryl at the BPE.
bajaponyexpress3 (-a t-) gmail.com
There have been a _lot_ of reports about thefts there recently, some describing a man with a backpack as one of the perps.
