Emergency Phone numbers

Does anyone know any helpful phone numbers that one could call in case of emergency while in Baja?

I 4x4 a lot in Central Baja in very isolated places. I recently bought a Satellite phone, but in Baja one wonders whom to call.

Thanks,
Scott

For serious emergencies there is a company in San Diego called Critical Air Medicine. They provide air ambulance service anywhere in Mexico 24 hours a day.

In Mexico, toll free, 95-800-010-0268. Or, collect to San Diego, 858-010-0268

3 of us are doing a 5 day M/C ride this weekend and are carrying SPOT. We had the same question. Our Baja savy friends that would get the "HELP" message asked, what do we do if you ask for help?

I figure it has little value, in Baja you are on your own. It might give the authorities (whoever they are) and idea of where to look for the bones.

Put together a list of people that are Baja savvy that could come after you or contact others if necessary to help you. This could be people like here on Nomad. Nomads that you have become friendly with and have met. I keep a list of about 15 people (home phone, cell phone and email) that I could call in an emergency that could help. I also have a list of medical emergency agencies and I'll post here later.
