Proof of address for FM3?

A question for Nomads living 'off the grid' who have dealt with the FM3 process... If you have no water/ power / phone bills what can you use as proof of address in Mexico as required for FM3 renewals?

You can go to the local delegado and get a residency certificate.

Out of curiosity, how would the delegado know where you live? Wouldn't you need the stuff he doesn't have?

the local Delegados in rural areas pretty much know where everyone lives. it's how I did it in Elias Calles years ago.

Funny story, when I went to him he explained that his typewriter was broken and could not do it for me. I offered to help and said we could use my printer. he gave me a stack of "official" pre-signed letter heads and a sample letter for a carta de residencia.

From that point on I became the official provider of all types of documents in Elias Calles. Whenever someone needed something he would send them over to our place with a slip of paper showing what needed to be typed. When I ran out he would give me more letterheads.

There are some things in Mexico that you just have to smile at.
