don't worry about it. just hand the guy a bag of oranges and say, "es todo". keep the meat outta the obvious places until you pass.... and roll up the
windows after he lets you pass.

There should be a new forum/topic category on the nomad board: "advice on how to obey or break the law"
probably need another related forum category entitled: "how to get out of jail"

The problem lately has been the US side coming back home. Last Tuesday they took my van for 1 1/2 hours and put me in a little room waiting. They
torn it apart and didn't put much back in place.

That's probably because your VW van is just like the one Cheech and Chong used to drive around in.

My van is older than "Cheech and Chong's" Beside that was real smoke coming out of it, not the kind of smoke they had coming out.

The only place this "cart" is going is to the beer store and the beach. Well maybe the "lier's club" in Punta Banda.

You really do need to worry about the US Customs. We have never been checked but we ALWAYS make sure that we have no meat or fruit and they have
ALWAYS asked us about dog food if they see the dogs. I think they are randomly checking many more vehicles than they have in the past.
Never had any problems in Mexico.
Remember, when in Mexico, yes may be no and no may be
maybe!

I was glad to see them doing such a good job. Hopefully they put my stop in the computer so I can pass next time. But, 1 1/2 hours was a little long
and it did take awhile to put the van back together and clean up what they broke. But, but, they did not take all my extra beers. I claimed a bottle
of brandy and they left my beers.
