It's been years but I am headed back in the spring. How much it the campground now? It used to be $4 and had banos with warm showers and flush
toilets. I'd love any info updates on the campground.
Also how about launching at Muertos? Is it a public ramp? What is the cost?

Strange, I already posted but no post ??
Last year the campground was $6 per night.
They now have 3 bathroom/shower buildings with 8 showers and 8 toilets total.
Showers are warm in the afternoon, never really hot in the winter.
Things are pretty similar except the campers have gotten more $$ and the average age, older.
There is a nice mini-super across from the campground.
Very nice Margies in the bar in the rear of the restaurant, also across from the gate.
The restaurant has pretty good american or mexican breakfast and nice casual dinners.
Also try El Rincon, 3 blocks down the beach, for the best food in town.
Launching at Los Muertos can be done at the ramp or from the beach to the right of the ramp where most pangas launch.
I don't know if there is a fee as I have never launched at the ramp.
There is a yacht club/restaurant at the launch as well.

Also, when in the campground .....
The propane truck plays music when he arrives.
The camarone boy sing-songs a-m-a-r-o-e-s !! when they come through.
Don't be last in line for the bakery truck - twice a week !!
Water jug man comes each morning within an hour or so after sunrise.
Fish vendor has a little truck with many coolers but he is very quiet; don't miss out !!
Walk down the beach to the Casa Verde B & B to schedule your after-fishing massage !
Can you tell that I'm already there in my mind ??!?!

I'm glad to hear that it sounds like it is still pretty nice. I used to go down in the spring for a month or so and the same in the fall. The fall
would get crowded but not too bad before I'd leave. In the spring there were times that I was the only gringo for a week or more.
I have heard that they put street lights in LV. Is this true? I remember when they did in Los Planes and you could see the glow from camp. I hope not
as it would screw up the star gazing.

Yes, they put street lights in LV, along the campground.
Good thing is that most of them aren't working !
There is a man in camp that does star gazing sessions for free.
He has a laser pointer and knows lots about the stars and the history.

Just got back from Ventana
I believe the campground rate is $80 pesos a day
There are new bathrooms and showers which are nice. You can launch boats from the campground where you see many boats are stored, most people use
dollys to launch. There is a public fishing beach about 200 meters down where trucks launch pangas. Launching in Muertos is free but watch out for
wind out there.
In Ventana/el Sargento is a new gas station but I thought the gas was less than wonderful.
There are many restaurants now such as Viento Norte across the street which includes the bar and Margaritas $35 pesos with bartender Mau, Chicken
Cordon Bleu is $85 pesos, Pablos tienda has lots of things, dancing lessons behind the bar too. Other stores exist all the way to El Sargento, perhaps
4 or 5 more stores-one even open on Sunday late. Ventana del Sol restaurant overlooking the camp is nice too and they gather there for football and
occassional jam sessions. We also have a pizza restaurant right in town behind the new public park. Excellent!
The crowd of people are precisely the same people as ever, many are in their 70's and perfectly healthy, sailing everyday.
Burning Bush party will come along mid-january with tons of events like famous Double-Cross race to the island and back and the absurd classic which
requires you to take a panga ride to the island and sail back-sail there and you are disqualified-no worries though score keeping is next to
non-existent.

I used to know Pablo and his wife Hailey pretty well. He used to let me store my fish in his freezer and then I'd throw him some cash when I left.
I am really looking forward to seeing Baja again.It has been far too long.
