Romantic Getaway

Do you have any suggestions for a restaurant with live music to take someone to celebrate a romantic birthday? what about the winery tour, is this a good time of the year to do that? Open to all suggestions.

Thanks!

I'm no expert on Rosarito. I'll leave it to the locals. My own ignorant vote would go to Calafia or further down at La Fonda.

Try the Pelicano in the north part of town, right in the beach, good food, a little hard to find.

My vote is for La Fonda. Fairly good food, absolutely romantic views from the restaurant or the rooms. Margaritas are half full of tequila. My avatar is a photo from the restaurant, plus, check these other photos:
View from room 22

The restaurant is above room 22 on the left

Great margaritas @ sunset!

View from restaurant: looking south

I would run fast from Rosarito and head to the Valle de Guadalupe. You might not have live music (depends on the day) but you'll certainly have romantic! Do a search on the forum for Valle de Guadalupe...or on Google. Quite a few very nice places to stay, to dine, to enjoy. And the wineries will be right outside your door.

I like El Nido in Rosarito. Cozy, warm fireplaces, great rustic decor, excellent service, and good food.

However no live music when I've been there, which makes it even better. Most live "music" I hear in northern baja restaurants is painful.

I've always encountered a piano player at El Rey Sol in Ensenada. But, that's a bit South of your parameters.
