This somehow brings back memories of the wonderful 1983 Gregory Nava film, El Norte, where two Guatemalans flee their country and head through Mexico
to the united States. There's one great scene where they try and convince border agents that they are Mexican, by lacing their language with
Fernando's favorite word.

Spanish 101. You could pass as Mexican -in certain hoods- once you master Fernando's lesson 1.
It's a "regular" verb....... used very regularly...
