Viva Yaqui Taco ?
Heard a word about a sign on the wall at Yaqui saying closed permanently? Don't know if something lost in translation or...........?
Heading down tomorrow for some golf, tequila and tacos. May have to get the tacos elsewhere.
If there is anybody left in Rosarito have you seen/heard/witnessed anything about Yaqui first hand?
Perones!!! It what's for breakfast!!

There are so many empty available storefronts on the main blvd- that maybe they are just moving to a better location. I hope that's it (although I
never liked beans in my carne asada quesadillas). I'll do a drive by today and let you know...

I would be surprised as the last few times I was there they seemed to be staying busy. I like the beans but just not in my taco, so I just ask to have
them served on the side...

Say it isn't so!
Where else do they make dog barking and cat sounds as they chop the meat!!!???
I didn't think I would like the beans on the taco as well... but was amazed at how good they are! Baja Angel doesn't care for the cheese, so hers are
'sin queso'... otherwise, we loved getting a meal there!

So get the beans AND cheese on the side, dab a little salsa and picante on it and you have a free side order of Chili beans!
Well, almost...

... Yes, and I still take my friends there and just ask for no beans on my tacos. It's closed one day a week maybe you just hit it on a closed day...
If any Taco stand is consistent with business- it's them.
I will never complain about the many options for great street-side food in Rosarito. Tacos Manuel and Tacos el Zurdo are both great. The guy
(sergio) that sells incredible mexican-style hot dogs at night next to the new Carne Mart on the Blvd is a decnt surfer too. Not to be out done are
the two TJ Juniors locations- it's sit down dining mostly but you get a free cup of soup and the four squeeze-bottle sauces they put on your table are
incredible. Try the combinatino fish taco plate- fish tacos three different ways! Glenn will love those!

I've never noticed the number of fat grams on the taco wrapper- so it must be zero.

Thank you for the live at five update. I know that seņor Yaqui has usually shut down for a time around the holidaze and when it was reported to me
that the sign said "permanently" I was skeptical.
Last time I was there Yaqui was talking to his contractor about expanding the little service building in the back and the fact that he does not rely
on the tourist for his core business means he should be able to weather the downturn.
I regret to say that my first thought was that he had run into similar issues as other successful businessmen in our beloved Baja Norte/Gold
Coast/Paradise by The Border region and was forced to leave town. Can you say Iggy?
Tomorrow I will be introducing a couple of greenhorn amigos from back east (Ohio & Toronto) to the wonderful world of Yaqui, liquid sensimilla and
golf by the sea!
We may even hit La Fonda so they can get the full "run the gauntlet" treatment.
If only the weather out here would improve!

I am going to go all technical on you.
Tacos have no beans.
Perones have beans.
I am sure between the beans and the beers my wife will be glad she is not along for the ride.
Thank you again for the in town get down no frown not a clown first persona update! You made my day. If you get by there again could you make a
reservation for three?

Viva Yaqui!

I don't know who complained about your real avatar- but these new guys are just too scary. And what time do they close now? I though they closed
early afternoon for some reason.
Please let me know the exchange rate at La Fonda if you don't run out of tequila first. (hint: bring pesos).
