Can anybody bring a cat north?

My brother Dan would like to adopt Spooky the cat who is at Shari's place in Asuncion. If somebody would bring Spooky across the border, Dan would be happy to pay any costs incurred such as vaccinations or whatnot. He says he will travel within California if somebody will bring Spooky that close. Anybody?

Describe spooky

I got lots of cats. I'll even paint one to match, put it in a box and mail it (not insured, sorry) anywhere.

Yes, in Bahia Asuncion there are many animals that need rescue, but there are also many, many animals in local shelters in California.

There are even more today who are victims of the foreclosure epidemic. So if your brother wants a cat, why not adopt a local needy cat who is facing certain death if not adopted.

He already has one cat that is not that sociable, and he says that Spooky's being very friendly would complement her. And I guess he just likes Spooky. With Lucy, I didn't really care about the situation in which she was living; I just liked her and knew I had to take her home. Dan knew right off the bat that he liked Spooky, but our attention was on Lucy at the time.

Well, if that is the only cat he will consider, I wish you luck.

I hope Lucy is doing well in her new home.

Lucy is in my lap as I'm typing this. I can't imagine a better pooch. She is so gentle and really complements my somewhat of a roughneck other dog Rita. With our two cats, we now have a big, happy animal family.

It's worse than I thought. They were loaning to anyone. No wonder we're deep in it.

Spooky WAS impressed----------Spooky looked into his one eye and knew right off that he is "the man" (no matter what you believe).

Spooky and "the man" have to be together, it seems to me.

Uh, I don't think so; my brother has only one eye.

I assume it was not meant to be offensive, but it reads that way. IMHO, the post was not funny and the way it read, it was in poor taste.

Maybe it is not offensive to you, and maybe you are reading it in a different way, but saying that Spooky has a brother as as President made my jaw drop open---just couldn't believe I was reading that.

Again, maybe you don't find that in poor taste, but some do. IMHO, it was probably meant to be humorous, but sometimes that doesn't work for everyone.

Is Spooky HALF black, too????

So what??? In Mexico, race humor is very common! What about those Chinese fast food places that use a logo of a slant eyed, buck toothed person?

Barry, the black cat's name is the same racial repugnant derogatory slang term used frequently in reference to blacks...referring to that black cat as a brother to the president of the USA, or to any black person would be in poor taste to me. And obviously to the others who U2u'd me to look at the post. I'm disappointed they chose not to speak up themselves, but that's their right.

It's possible that it's a term that's never been used in your presence, but to me, it's just as offensive as other derogatory terms/racial slur used against Asians, Italians, Japanese or any other nationality or group of people.

Edited brother in place of erroneously having said cousin in original response
