Where to stay in Loreto
We'll be heading south in a few days and need some guidance for a hotel/motel in Loreto. Every place has been full the last few trips and we've just
kept going to La Ribera. Just an overnight with secure parking. Phone number or email for reservations would be nice. Ideas? We thought El
Rosario/San Ignacio/Loreto and home.

It depends on your budget and your needs. When I have been traveling through and just needed the night, I found Hacienda Suites to be perfect. Modern
and well kept, and it has a very good restaurant, Domingo's Place right next door. I wouldn't recommend it for people planning to spend time in
Loreto, because it's far from the beach and the malecon, but for an overnight, it's nearly perfect. The have a web site. Just Google Hacienda Suites.

I believe that Iguana takes pets if they get along with the resident dog whose name escapes me.
There is always the Desert Inn. With an FM2 the rooms are about $70. Ask for a room close to the office to be sure that you have a good supply of
hot water. It is certainly nothing fancy but it is right on the beach, which is perfect for the early morning dog walk.
If you want totally secure parking, I would suggest the Oasis which is also right on the beach, but it is pricy.

Hacienda Suites also has secure parking in back. Walled lot and they lock the gate at dark.

Hacienda Suites looks great but they want over $100 per night - too pricey for an overnighter, I thought. I'll check out Iguana Inn. They were full
the last time we were there. Any other ideas out there?

There's the cabins that Mike has as the Los Boracho's, on the south end of town, on the road to San Javier, about five hundred feet west of the Hwy 1
might have an opening.?????? Never stayed there, but the restaurant is great for hamburgers, or on Sundays, Eggs Benedict. And hard to beat Bloody
Mary's. Oh yes. They sell beer too. A favorite hangout for the locals. Other than Auggie's on the malicon. There is a fairly new two room motel
on Juarez about one block back from the Malecon. Absolutely quiet!!! I believe the rates were $70.00 a night. Nice restaurant next door. And you
won't hear it. Place is called La Luna. Swiss fellow owns it. Has a quiet lounge area on the second floor.

Don't know how large a party you have, but Hacienda Suites, excluding their deluxe rooms in the back, charge less than $90. Some of the places
referneced in other posts have very few rooms, and you would be subject to space limitation. Just think that you should at least consider Hacienda
Suites as a fallback option since they have many rooms. And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, if it's just for one night, the restaurant next door
is really great. Mesquite broiled steaks, seafood. Domingo's Place.

Loreta, Mexico (PRWEB) February 9, 2009 -- Due to popular demand, the Loreto Visitors Bureau, the tourism promotion organization for Loreto, Baja Sur,
Mexico (Loreto Visitors Bureau (http://www.ExperienceLoretoBaja.com)), has extended the destination's first cooperative buy one, get one free promotion, originally for travel
through January and now through February 28, 2009. Throughout the month of February, every time a Loreto, Baja Sur visitor pays for one night, one
meal or one activity at a participating hotel, restaurant, car rental or tour operator, the Loreto Visitors Bureau will pick up the second night, meal
or activity, respectively. Additionally, guests who booked a vacation package through Alaska Airlines Vacations will receive a 15% discount when
purchased online at Alaska Airlines Vacations (http://www.alaskaair.com/vacations) and will earn 1,500 mileage plan bonus miles per person in addition to miles flown.
This promotion is the new Bureau's invitation to discover one of Mexico's most charming and intriguing destinations. "In essence, every visitor during
the month of February will receive every other travel purchase for free, courtesy of the Loreto Visitors Bureau," said James Spano, the bureau's
Chairman. "We put together this program as a collective 'thank you' from the community and as a way to make discovering our destination and its many
offerings more affordable. Even during this difficult economic period, travelers should not have to put their plans on hold, and what better way to
help visitors than with a program that cuts their travel and vacationing costs in half." The Loreto Visitor Bureau was formed in November 2008 to
