Passport to go back to USA?
Hi I heard that americans would need a passport to re enter USA now. Not as before which they could use birth certificate. Does any one know for sure
if this is in effect now?

This thing has been continued several times now, so I would be willing to bet that the June due date will also change. Remember there is a new
"Sheriff In Town" and the ex-governor of Arizona Janet is going to make changes that cut cost and focused not so much on the border wall. The cost to
those in Mexico to cross because they must also have a passport will also be considered, which in the past was not looked at too much. Just wait and
see a total u-turn will occur on this passport thing. I am not saying I agree with the u-turn but I am saying it will be on the table you can bet on

Europeans can travel throughout the EU countires with nothing more than a drivers license or any form of government issued photo ID. And we need a
passport to visit our neighbor???

Woody, yea we know the game plan and we know who is getting stimulated with the stimulate package. Isn't it always the way it goes the taxpayers pay
and pay just the way it is and will be unfortunately. Just not fun being anywhere near a tv right now, so I try to avoid news as much as possible.
My 427 retirement plan I have paid into for many many years has my options down to my socks. You know what it doesn't really matter, as long as I get
to wake up each morning and put my own feet down and walk on my own. Have had 4 operations the last 2 years and each time I build myself up to the
point of heading down South for a longer stay another one comes up Thus, my amigo our health as others have said is our greatest wealth. To have a
doctor come in and tell you that he thinks you may have cancer and then be told
after many tests and several days that you are cancer free, just makes you want to hug and dance with everyone in the world  .
Never once did I think about money or possessions, I thought about my loved ones and things I wish I had done with them. Got some rehabilitation on
my ACL in my right knee, which was one of my four injuries that occurred at work, and then a step, a jog, and then "Run for the Border." "No Hurry No Worry Just Fun" Later------bajafun777

Mexico is NOT a good neighbor ....
Official government policy is to encourage Mexicans to break the soverign laws of the United States of America.

I think I may have missed that proclamation. Nevertheless, Do you think that from UK to Slovenia, Belgium to Greece, everyone is just sitting around
the campfire singing Kubaya? There are myriad political, cultural and language differences among the countires. but they have achieved a civilized way
of working around them. On the other hand, we build walls and demand papers. Who is more evolved?

What differences are there?

passport accepted worldwide. "passport-card" is not really a passport, and who knows if it is accepted by other countries?? i think the
"passport-card" is cheaper, but not very useful. if you have a passport, you don't need a "passport-card."

What is the passport card?
The passport card is a wallet-size card that can only be used for land and sea travel between the United States and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and
Bermuda. The card will provide a less expensive, smaller, and more convenient alternative to the passport book for those who travel frequently to
these destinations by land or by sea.
Why can’t I use the passport card to fly to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, or Bermuda?
The passport card is designed for the specific needs of the northern and southern border resident communities and is not a globally interoperable
travel document as is the traditional passport book. While the passport card has limited use, the passport book will remain the premier
internationally accepted travel document.

I'm betting they will push off the "deadline" yet again for the 2.3% of the population that always waits to the last minute because it will no doubt
cause them insufferable pain and anguish....Kind of like the recent digital TV postponement, and all the past passport implementation delays over the
last 3-4 years....Any Takers?
In any event, my passport is good for another 3 years, so I’m prepared.

They postponed this several times and I think people are finally getting the news. My wife lost her passport late last year. She went to the local
post office on Friday for a replacement, and there were 20 people in line for passports.

The passport card is handy and especially good for frequent border crossers. It saves your passport book from wear and tear. Also it fits right in
your wallet.

Contrary to what they told us before, Sentri cards will now be accepted in the regular lanes and can be read with those new readers they have put up.
Just in case you are crossing in a non-Sentri tagged vehicle...
