San Felipe lodging advice for...

...hotel, motel, notel, B&B, etc (but not camping). Would like a decent place, on the beach, up to 20 miles away from town - north or south - would be ok, as we really really really like quiet and no crowds. Looked at all the lodging websites, but would be interested in hearing about places that don't advertise online. Of course we'll look around once we get there, but it would be nice to have a heads up from some of you helpful peeps!
Thanks! This forum is great!!!

There is very little, or nothing , no. or
so. of the town of SF, let alone 20 mi.
The town is about 3 1/2 mi. long,
streching from the center to the
commerical harbor. Excluding
Easter Week, the week before Easter,
or perhaps spring vacation for College
Students, which recently the Spring Break
tour Co's haven't been going to SF,
instead go to Rosarito. You will not experience
'crowds' of any kind. For a beach 'resort'
Motel, I would look at the Cortez Motel,
on the beach , pool. Or what you
indicated you want, possibly a Condo
would be better, the mentioned SF site
I'm sure contains a list of condo's

Also try VRBO.com
I am on the beach and would love to rent it out, but the wife does not want to get into the rental biz.

Franco and Lauren are friends of mine and have three very nice rentals right on the beach and it is 20 miles south of town.

Haven't had a bad trip yet....

There are some 3-4 new motels along Hwy5 about 5 miles north of SF, but they are about 1-2 miles from the beach. About 7 miles north of town is La Ventana Del Mar, they have rental condos on the beach, but very pricey. Though I don't know how much you want to spend. As for crowds, due to the economy San Felipe has half the gringo winter population that they usually have. That however, does not include Spring breaks and Baja 250 and Baja 1000 times.
